SPRING-PLANTED SPRING-BLOOMING BULBS
Starting in March, Pesche’s carries a large variety of Spring-Planted bulbs supplied by the Netherland Bulb Company. Some of the most beautiful garden flowers are produced from spring-planted bulbs, Dinner Plate Dahlias, Begonias, Cannas, Freesias, Gladiolus, Lilies and Elephant Ears. We also have Edible Bulbs including Garlic, Horseradish, Seed Potatoes and Dutch Onion Sets. Plant summer flowering bulbs and tubers AFTER the last frost date (April 20th).
Planting summer flowering bulbs is a great way to scratch that gardening itch that always seems to start before we can get out in our yard & really get to work! Bulbs are an easy way even for the most beginner gardener to add low maintenance color and greenery in the yard for low cost.
FALL-PLANTED SPRING-BLOOMING BULBS
In October, stop in for a huge selection of spring-flowering bulbs (including Allium, Crocus, Daffodils, Hyacinths, Narcissus and Tulips) and look forward to wonderful spring blooms. One of the easiest to grow are daffodils (resistant to most bulb-foraging animals, their cheerful blossoms herald early spring). There is nothing more refreshing in the spring than seeing a bed full of bright, cheery Daffodils and Tulips or catching the sweet fragrance of Hyacinths.
Planting bulbs is a very easy procedure, always follow the directions on the package. The two most important ingredients to a successful summer bulb garden are quality bulbs and well-drained soil. Maintain a pH level of 6 – 7 to bring out the true color of flower bulb. When planting your bulbs, we recommend using Dr. Earth Organic Bulb Fertilizer or Espoma Bulb-Tone.
