Adult mosquitoes live for approximately 4-8 weeks. The female needs a blood meal to produce eggs—up to several hundred eggs every time! Eggs are laid in or around water, and hatch into "wrigglers" within 24-48 hours. Wrigglers occur in any kind of water that is stagnant or slow moving for over a week. Within 7-10 days, the wriggler changes into a pupae then emerges as an adult biting mosquito.

Fight mosquitoes on your property

Standing water provides a place for mosquitoes to lay eggs and reproduce. Drain standing water at least once a week to eliminate possible egg-laying sites.
